Converge Events produces high-impact, peer-focused conferences for senior executives in fintech, compliance, and credit union innovation. We’re looking for a strategic and tactical freelance marketer to help boost practitioner (end-user) registrations and drive engagement before, during, and after our upcoming U.S. Fintech Symposium (USFS), June 2–4 in Chicago.
You'll bring compelling messaging, smart outreach, and an eye for content that resonates with senior decision-makers. This role blends digital campaign work with on-site content creation, with the potential to support our other 2025–26 events moving forward. If you have experience with Google Ads and conversion tracking, that's a major bonus—we’re open to experimenting with paid practitioner acquisition in a focused, test-driven way.

Responsibilities
Digital Campaign & Copywriting
- Create and deploy targeted campaigns via Zoho Campaigns and manage practitioner segments in Zoho CRM.
- Write compelling, peer-driven email copy and ghostwrite LinkedIn posts for speakers and sponsors to share with their practitioner networks.
- Support organic content planning and scheduling in Loomly.
- Leverage existing USFS white papers as value hooks in email and social campaigns.
Onsite Content & Engagement
- Attend the U.S. Fintech Symposium in Oak Brook, IL (June 2–4) to:
- Capture attendee photos, video snippets, and testimonials.
- Post and respond to social content in real-time.
- Capture attendee photos, video snippets, and testimonials.
- Help produce practitioner spotlights and post-event highlights.
- Tag and organize content for future marketing use (e.g., recaps, promo campaigns).
Marketing Ops & Messaging Support
- Suggest light website copy refreshes to reflect updated practitioner value and perks.
- Help coordinate a short-form feedback loop from registrants or past attendees to inform messaging.
- Track performance and share weekly campaign insights with quick optimization ideas.
- Set up and manage light Google Ad campaigns to promote early practitioner registration, and track conversions through landing pages or UTM-tagged links.
How We'll Measure Success
- 20%+ increase in practitioner registrations compared to same period last year.
- At least 50% of practitioner registrations occur before May 20th.
- At least 5 speakers or sponsors actively share content using messaging you create or guide.
- Campaigns generate 25%+ open rates and 3–5%+ click-through rates.
- Onsite content (photos/testimonials/social) is captured and repurposed within 1 week.
- Website, email, or social messaging reflects improved clarity and resonance with practitioner audience.
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of B2B marketing experience (fintech, SaaS, or executive events a plus).
- Based in the Chicago area or willing to travel to Chicago (June 2–4).
- Proficient in Zoho Campaigns, Zoho CRM, and Loomly.
- Strong copywriter—can speak to executives in a clear, persuasive voice.
- Confident capturing photo/testimonial content onsite and posting in real time.
- Organized and proactive, with experience working async and independently
- Bonus: experience setting up Google Ads and conversion tracking for event registrations or lead-gen campaigns
